Taylor and Elliott - Use Me

Here's a video of Taylor Hicks and Elliott Yamin performing with Taylor's band LiMBO (Little Memphis Blues Orchestra)
Elliott has an amazing voice and I hope he signs a recording contract soon, 'cause I'd love to here more of him singing like this.

My Dream Car ... Sigh ...

I love muscle cars, but this one by far is my favorite. A 1969 Camaro Z28, hugger orange with the 2 big fat racing stripes. One day I will have one. Which may surprise people who know me, since I don't drive. But if I had a car like this I would.

Maggie the Muppet Dog

This is my sister's dog Maggie. Doesn't she look like a muppet? Or Sprocket from Fragglerock? Anyway, this picture was difficult to get because Maggie is scared of cameras, when ever she sees one she runs and hides under the kitchen table. I was so proud of myself when I snapped this one. I had to be super fast so I'm suprised it turned out as good as it did.

English Gentlemen?

What is it with reality shows and rude, abrasive British men? I wonder what kind of impact these prime time personalities are having on the mindset of North Americans? People are going to start thinking they're all like that. Just once can we see a British guy thats sweet and lovable? I'm sure there must be one somewhere.

Snakes on a Plane

Is this movie for real? I mean 2 1/2 hours of snakes ... on a plane? I've seen a few trailers now, and as far as I can tell, that's pretty much it. And then to top it off you call it "Snakes on a Plane"?
Honestly, I don't know where this movies coming from, but I have a few thoeries:

1. Samuel L. Jackson lost a bet and his punishment is global cinematic humiliation.

2. Another CIA plot to further the "dumbing down" of the American public in order to continue operations in the mid-east without protest.

3. A big Hollywood joke, "Let's make the dumbest movie possible, give it the lamest name and see who many millions we can make. Oh, and let's put a big name celebrity in there, just so we can make sure to break even"

Any other theories welcome.

Another Option ...

I figured I'd stick with the Star Trek theme today. And I'm still laughing over the James Kirk Inspirational Poster.

But Seriously ...

All jokes about dancing aside, Taylor is great performer and artist. His first CD after winning AI is due out close to Christmas this year. Here is a sample of a "pre-idol" song of his just to give you a taste of whats to come. Enjoy.

Gettn' My Hicks Fix

A Taylor Hicks Dancing Tribute.

Here we have American Idol Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks in his element, on stage performing for an audience. Normally I only watch the AI auditions but when I saw Taylor's audition I was blown away. I figured well ... I'll keep watching, but only until Taylor gets "voted off", then thats it. Little did I know he'd win the whole thing. And I am soooo happy for him. Anyway, his unique dancing style has been described as anything from drunkeness to epileptic fits. I think it's great. I'll let you watch the video and decide for yourself.

The Inner Workings of Two Twisted Minds ... Part 2

It surrounds me,
Like moths in a lantern
Wings sweep past,
Frightening me.
I run screaming
into a tree,
and fall down dead.
They bury me.

If you thought this was bizzare you need to see part one.

Any thoughts, comments and interpretations are appreciated.
